I have been a Realtor since 1986 and am the third generation in my family to make this my career. Born and raised in Hawaii, I've lived in Port Angeles since 1979.
Since 1996, I have attended the Coldwell Banker Elite Retreat, a conference for the top 5% of the company internationally. It's a privilege to be able to rub shoulders with the top producers from across the country and learn form them.
Success in the business brings with it, for me, a desire to give back. So I have been active in the Association of Realtors seeking to improve the industry and assist other agents in increasing their professionalism through education. In 2002 I was honored to serve as the President of the Washington Association of Realtors, our state board of 16,000 members.
Locally, I am the vice president of the Hearthstone Group, a non profit organization that provides affordable housing for seniors. We have five buildings on the Olympic Peninsula.
As a Soroptimist member in Port Angeles, it's been a privilege to raise money for our community, for scholarships for the graduating seniors and returning college students, and for the Estuary Park just west of downtown.
One of the things I love about Port Angeles is the way the community comes together when there's a job to be done. In 2002 we built a playground. It took five days for us to do it, and the preparation prior to the start of actual construction was incredible, but as my husband and I spent an afternoon attaching pickets to the fence that surrounds the incredible playground actually designed by our schoolchildren, it was so heartwarming to see our neighbors, colleagues, friends and strangers working side by side to turn this dream into a reality.
